How To Ride a Bike

Everyone seems to have more burdens than they can handle right now. I am no exception. I am currently burdened over church, my children, our nation,...

Yesterday, my preacher brought up a good point. He said
"It is easier to ride a bike in the dark with a light than it is to ride in broad daylight."

HUH? Having an expert cyclist in the congregation, he proved this to be true.

Here is why it is easier to ride a bicycle in the dark with only a headlight:
When you are relying solely on the headlight, you can only see a little bit infront of you instead of the entire big hill you are trying to climb. When you see only a little bit, we are inclined to say, "Oh, well I can get that far, no problem." Then the nest little bit, then the next little, and before you know it you are over your hill.

This is how I see it relating to our life. We are designed to only be able to conquer a limited amount of struggles at a time. We don't have to see what is ahead. That is God's job. He knows what is ahead and has promised to take care of us. We just need to get through one step at a time.

Boy, do I need to learn how to do that. I am trying. How much would...Everything be, if we lived one step at a time and let God to the worrying for us? That rings true today as much as ever.
