Do You Have To Ask Me?

Recently my Uncle Bill passed away. He was a tremendous man, proud grandfather, and extremely loving husband. There is more to him than that though. At his funeral, the preacher said this:
"Bill Ring was a man that you did not have to ask to know about his relationship with Jesus Christ."

I knew, as well as everyone else there knew, exactly what he was talking about. It had always blatantly obvious that Bill was a Christian. I don't mean he was baptised as a kid and tried to be nice to people. It was much deeper than that. His actions and even his demeanor spoke more than anything. We all know there are people who are wonderful, nice people, then there are others who ooze God's Love without saying much. While we don't want to admit it, we know it is true.

This has me reflecting on my own life.

  • Can people look at me and know that I am a Christian?

  • Do someone have to read this blog or hear me quote scripture to know that I have been saved by the mercy of Jesus Christ?

  • Can you see the joy that Our Lord has given me?

I don't know if you can say yes to each of those questions about me. God is working in my life so that I may be a witness to my children and to others, and that I may bring Benjamin and Jacob up in church knowing and feeling the love of God. I pray that my light shines for you Lord!
