MLK Day Curse

Today is MLK Day. I dread this day all year long. Normally, I would anticipate a day off from work. This year, that was irrelivant. Now know, Martin Luther King was a great man and I have no beef with him, at all! It is a coinsidence that the curse takes place on MLK Day. The fact of the matter is, crappy things always happen on this very day every year.

Events from MLK Days past:

  • dog ran over and killed
  • lose job
  • cellulitus complications
  • Food Poison
  • Baby Ben stomach virus
  • other unmentionable drama
2005 for instance was miserable.  It might not sound so bad in writing, but believe me, emotionsally it was gut wrenching. I was having difficulty at work.  I use the word "difficulty" mildly. If anyone remembers the Moravian Falls Days, you know what I am talking about. So far, I had flown under the radar in comparison to most of my coworkers. Having the day off was a much needed relief.  I spent the morning on edge. We let Lady, our sweetest, favorite dog out for a few moments, and BAM! next door neighbor runs over her, flattening her, and not even slowing down. I basically laid in the yard with her for the rest of the day in torment.

Going in to work the next morning was painstaking. BAM! Before I know, my superiors say that I "Have no Integrity!" To this day, I am puzzled. It was a Witch Hunt, plain and simple. The rest of the year just went from bad to worse until the day I finally escaped.

Believe me when I say, I blame the MLK Day curse on that one.  If I had only had a different day after my sweet little puppy died.

What ever, this year has been better so far. My next blog shold fill you in on all the new developments.
